About Craig
I have taught singing for 25 years, working at some of the UK’s leading centres for the performing arts, including Bird College, Mountview, and Leeds Conservatoire. I also teach online and in person from my studio in Stoke-on-Trent.
I studied classical singing at Birmingham Conservatoire and was awarded an MA in vocal pedagogy from the Voice Study Centre/UWTSD. I am certified as an Estill Master Trainer, a Vocal Process Accredited Teacher, and a vocal health first aider. As an evidence-based practitioner, my approach is always evolving; my special interests include applied vocal function, vocal health, and developing effective strategies for training neurodivergent singers. I am a Member of the Independent Society of Musicians (ISM), the leading professional body for musicians in the UK.
I passionately believe that the teacher and the singer work together as a team. My aim is to create an environment where the singer can explore their voices and to make mistakes, safe in the knowledge that this is a natural and valuable part of the learning process.
